The Bean thinking she looks cool!
This is Chili. Even though Chili is 10 years old, I still refer to her as “my puppy”. Which causes an over exaggerated eye roll from my daughter and then she proceeds to tell me how sickening it is to see how spoiled Chili is.
Chili is not spoiled.
She is just very loved.
I will admit, I baby talk Chili. But I also do it with Bug-a-boo and DaiDai.
It’s just what I do with animals. And babies. And sometimes Bobby. And sometimes our daughter.
Okay…maybe it’s a little sickening but it’s just what I do.
So, yes, I baby talk to my animals while calling them their nicknames.
Let’s see. Chili is often referred to as My Little Loaf (her weight is an issue and she looks like a little loaf), My Puppy, Momma’s Puppy, Chili Bean, Chili Willy, The Bean (Bobby calls her that) and My Furry Little Friend. Boo is called Bug-a-boo and BooBoo. And DaiDai is pretty much just called kitty or kitty kitty.
Chili is just the most lovable animal I’ve ever had. She loves to cuddle. DaiDai will cuddle for a minute and then she decides she’s given you enough attention and let’s you know that she’s pretty much done with you. And Boo doesn’t cuddle. Boo bugs. She won’t just lay on your lap while you pet her. She licks and licks. And then she gets right in your face so that all you can do is give her attention.
But Chili will just chill (no pun intended) with you.
Chili’s happy as long as she’s fed and can sleep 20 hours a day. And if you throw some love her way throughout the day she’s good.
Chili is staying with a family member now. Chili and Boo are still together but DaiDai is staying with a different family member.
Damn…I really miss them all. But this is all part of what we’re doing. Part of the experience. Change really is hard. At the same time we’re excited to get on the road and continue with this chapter in our life. We know that we’re following our hearts and can do some good out there!
