Oh what a charming small town Astoria, Oregon is!! At least that’s what I think. We were only there for a few hours before we headed over to Portland but I was able to snap a few pictures before we got back on the road. We walked around at their Sunday Market and browsed the market booths. I’m always amazed at the creative talents of others. There were handmade all natural soaps, lotions, candles, woodworking, baked goods, jewelry, plants, handmade knives and more. There was also lots of food and a live band playing by the “food court”. The people were friendly and it was just a feel good atmosphere that gave me a natural high! And I loved all the older homes and architecture in Astoria.

I just had to get some pictures of the Astoria-Megler bridge that goes into Washington. That bridge scared the crap out of me and I was thankful we didn’t have to drive on that bridge. Bobby loves bridges. Me? Nope. I’d rather just enjoy a bridge from dry land. We did come into Astoria from a bridge and that was freaky enough for me. I’ve lost count of the number of bridges I’ve been taken over during this trip so far now, and always without warning so that I can emotionally prepare myself. Yes, I’m a big ‘ol baby. Seriously, bridges make me want to cry.
